CSOI LIBRARY FACILITIES

Dear Member,

1.         Library Rules.   CSOI Library contains as many as 6085 books, which can be issued to members @ two new books at a time for 15 days. These books may be re-issued for another period of 15 days, on the request of member (i.e. max 1 month). Author Members may forward a copy of book authored by them to GM, CSOI, if they wish to place the book in CSOI, Library for benefit of members & families.  Such books may be placed in CSOI, Library, on approval by the Library Sub-Committee of CSOI.  Members may purchase old magazines, as and when put on display for sale at CSOI, Vinay Marg at prescribed rates. The late fee charge of Rs.1/- per book per day is levied, in case the book is not returned to Library within 30 days of the date of issue of book. Members may note that number of new books are purchased regularly by CSOI Library and list of new books is concurrently hosted on the CSOI website under ‘View All’ icon, placed on bottom right of CSOI home page, which leads to ‘News All Update’ icon for accessing miscellaneous information including list of new books purchased by Library.

2.           Reading Room.     Members/ Spouse/ Dependents (16 to 21 years) may avail facility of Reading room between 12:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs on all days except Tuesdays & 08 closed Holidays of CSOI, without any additional charges. Children of members (more than 21 years of age) need to pay Rs.100/-, as monthly charge for availing this facility.

3.          DELNET Facility.  It may be noted that the Institute has subscribed to DELNET facility (Developing Library Network across the World), for the benefit of members & their family, especially children, who are aspirants for various National Level/ State Level entrance examinations.  As many as 1.5 crore books are available online for reading. Interested Members/ Spouse/ Dependents may contact Shri Jitender Singh, CSOI Librarian (Mob.8826719341; library@csoi.in) and seek ‘user-id & password’, to avail this facility from remote location. Members may contact Librarian to seek physical copy of a book, if available on DELNET, which will be requisitioned at CSOI, Vinay Marg Library by courier.  The Courier charges will be borne by the member for physical books, procured from Libraries outside Delhi, on Ty Loan.  Such books are issued for a max. period of 10 days.

4.          Kindle Reader.       The CSOI Library also keeps 03 Kindle Readers for use by members/ spouse/ dependents, which may be issued by Librarian, to be used within the premises of Library, without any charge. Wi-Fi facility is available at the Library.

5.          Magazines.   As many as 17 magazines/ periodicals are kept in CSOI Library.  A list is placed at Attachment-I.

6.          Newspapers.  08 Newspapers including one weekly, are kept in CSOI Library for reading by members/ spouse/ dependents.  A list is placed at Attachment-II.
